After touching up the last parts of my look for the day, I headed off to school. The plan I had was simple. I’d tell Alli who I was, get a quick kiss to break the spell, and then I’d get to live with her happily ever after. Just, there was a slight problem…
“Who do you think you are, nerd!” yelled a girl as I tried to approach Alli. That’s right. I still was in the band. I still was a completely different league from Alli. In fact, I was in the same position as before, except now I had to win her heart as a lesbian.
I sighed and tried to come up with a plan. I couldn’t win over Alli’s heart if I couldn’t talk to her. But the problem are her gang of friends. She’s always hanging around them, and they all stop me from ever getting near to her. If only there was a way to take them out of the question. If only…
That’s it! I ran down the hall to the biology teacher’s office and flung open the door. “I’d like to join the archery club!” I said excitedly. “Please let me join!”
The teacher, who was the advisor of the club, looked at me confused. “You don’t look like you’ve held a bow in your life,” she said. “Can you even name a single good archer in the world?”
Oh, I should have researched this. “Alli!” I said, trying to come up with anyone.
She frowned. “I cannot allow you to pollute the club just for your own romantic ventures. And why are you going after Alli anyways? She’s a girl you know. Girls like guys, and guys like girls.”
I sighed. “Can you at least teach me?”
“No,” said the teacher. “Now get out.”
I felt the tears starting to form. “Now how am I supposed to tell her I am James if I can’t get close to her…” I thought. Except…
“Wait, James?” said the teacher. Oh crap. I spoke my thoughts out loud. And not to mention... “James, what the hell happened! Why are you dressed like that!”
There went the one person I could tell. Well, I guess I still had one more, but that had to be May unless I wanted to live the rest of my life as a woman. Which I guess wouldn’t be so bad if I was with Alli in the end…
“Close the door,” said the teacher. “We have a bit to discuss.” I obeyed her and shut the door.
“So,” she said, “are you crossdressing, or are you the real deal?” To answer, I pulled up my blouse so she could see my bra.
“It happened overnight,” I said. “I don’t know what happened, but I think it has something to do with the bet I made with May.”
“Bet?” asked the teacher.
“Yes. I’d have to get a kiss from Alli in a week. If I won, I’d have her eternal devotion. If I lost, I’d have to become May’s boyfriend. Though it came with some conditions.” So I read off the condition list.
The teacher frowned. “And you never thought that someone who had the power to change a person’s heart wouldn’t be able to do this?” she asked. “Never trust a witch. They are powerful and tricky.”
I sighed. “So, what do I do, Miss, um…” I asked.
The teacher sighed. “I had you in my biology class and you don’t even remember my name? It’s Miss Georgia,” she said. “Now, as to what you do, I think you started on the right path. Get a mentor, who would be me. You cannot do this alone.”
“But I was going to tell Alli. It just slipped.” I responded.
The teacher looked angry. “No matter what, you should never do that! Alli is a very pure girl. She will never give up her first kiss that easily, even if it meant changing you back. I mean, she doesn’t even know you in the first place.”
Her words were like daggers, yet the truth sometimes hurts. “Well,” I said, “what should I do then?”
The teacher sighed. “First, talk to Miss May to tell her exactly who you are. You do want to turn back, right?”
I nodded. The teacher grabbed the intercom. “May Inohara to Miss Georgia’s office please. May Inohara to Miss Georgia’s office.”
“While we wait,” she said, “let’s talk a bit about now. You need to join the archery club. You were right to ask me, though you should’ve done some research first. I’ll add you to the roll.”
A small knock came on the door. “Miss Georgia?” asked May from the other side.
“Come in,” she said. May walked into the room. “What did you need me for?” she asked the teacher.
“Liz here has something to tell you,” she said.
I sighed. Well, I guess here goes nothing. “I am James,” I told her. There was a small look of shock on her face at first, and then a little evil smile.
“I’m surprised,” she said. “I thought you’d have run straight to Alli to tell her who you are, but you instead got a teacher. You’re a bit smarter than I thought.”
She turned away. “Well, good luck!” she turned to leave the room and flipped her hair.
“Miss May,” said Miss Georgia. “You do realize what will happen if you win, right?” she asked.
“I get a boyfriend,” she said.
“No,” said Miss Georgia. “You will fail my class for gross misuse of biological magic. Now please leave.”
The door closed behind her.
That afternoon, I went to the archery range for my first club practice. I grabbed a bow and an arrow and prepared to take my first shot.
“What do you think you’re doing?” asked Alli. Oh my god! The first words ever spoken to me!
“Isn’t this how you fire?” I asked.
Alli frowned. “I don’t know why the master even let you in this club if you don’t know the rules!” She took my bow and threw it to the ground. “Stand back there with all the others!”
Oh god, she’s scary! I moved back to the line.
“So, Liz reminded me that we need a new safety drill,” said Alli. “So, let’s go over the rules again. One whistle, you can approach the line. Two whistles, you can fire at will. Three whistles, you must stop firing. Four whistles, you can retrieve your arrows.”
Damn this is complicated! I nodded though to show my support. A sharp whistle resounded through the loft. I walked up to the line with everyone else and grabbed my equipment. Another two whistles, I picked up the bow and prepared to fire. I pulled back the string as hard as I could, and let the arrow fly.
The arrow flew, certainly. But I didn’t get to see it as I was overcome by an immediate sharp pain in my wrist. I looked down at it, and there was a nice red mark from the string smacking me right on it. What the hell?
I looked up, and there was my arrow on the edge of the target. One point. I sighed and notched another arrow. I pulled my bow back with all of my might and let it go again. Another snap on my wrist. Damn, is archery a sport for masochists?
“Well,” said Alli, “I guess it’s more than just not knowing the rules. You don’t know a thing about archery, do you?”
I nodded.
“I guess I’ll have to teach you,” said Alli with a sigh. “First, there’s this.” She threw a black looking strap at me.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“A wrist guard,” she said. “Put it on so you don’t get bitten by the string.” I quickly fasted it over the wound.
“Next,” said Alli, “watch and learn.
Alli grabbed the bow and stood perfectly perpendicular to the target. She pulled the string back and let an arrow fly. Straight into the bulls eye.
“Let’s work on your body, all right?” she said.
And for the next few hours, that was all we did. I never got more than a single point on the target, but at least my positioning was better now. Yet, when we finished, I looked around. The pavilion was empty. There was just myself and Alli.
“Thank you so much for helping me,” I said with a smile. “I really appreciate it!”
Alli laughed. “You know I am in the national championships, right?” she asked.
“Whoa, you’re that good?” I asked. Wow, an actual discussion with Alli!
“Yeah,” she said. “But when you reach a certain level, you only can improve by minute amounts. Getting to mentor you and watching you improve this much in a few hours can sometimes be more fun than just shooting the same shot over and over again, hoping to move it by half an inch.”
“Well,” I said, “I guess I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Alli nodded. “See you as well!”
I went to my home with a smile on my face. I may have messed up today, but it was for the best. I still felt the sting on my wrist. Maybe I’ll put some ice on it or something.
Liz's second day of the week. Inroads start to be made.

wouldn't it actually hit her bust instead? as her boobs stick out far enough that the string impacts her bust.
